THE FREQUENCY DISTRIBUTION CURVE (FDC)

The FDC is constructed by considering the intersection points between the hydrographic network of a basin (with streams classified by hierarchical order) and the contour lines.

For graphical synthesis, the drainage frequency values are normalized against the maximum value and plotted against the normalized elevation so as in the hypsometric curve.
